IP was developed by a Petrophysicist to work as petrophysicists want to work but never thought possible! Interactive Petrophysics ™ is different by design. Portable, quick, versatile and easy-to-use log analysis software ideal for both Geologists wanting to do a quality check of their log data and experienced Petrophysicists carrying out multi-zone, multi-well petrophysical field analyses. This product is truly unique in its approach to petrophysics.
Interactive Petrophysics (IP) v3.5 was released early December 2008 to the world wide IP user community.
There are a number of changes which have been implemented in this latest version of IP, culminating in many benefits for all IP users. IP 3.5 gives the user another big increase in functionality, the main focus of which has been multi-well processing and statistical analysis modules. Alongside this, many other enhancements have been made, for instance, IP3.5 is now compatable with Windows VISTA.
The new Cluster analysis module allows the user to group the log data into electrical facies, thus allowing a full multi-well analysis of the log data. A new multi-curve multi-well crossplot module is also used to display the different facies in an easy to understand display.
To enhance the statistical analysis capabilities of IP, a new Principal Component analysis module has be made. This allows the reduction of multiple log curves into just one or two curves without loss of information.
Much work has been done to improve the multi-well capabilities of IP. These include a complete log curve aliasing system that allows the user to set up systems to search for the correct curves to run modules automatically.
The multi-well parameter distribution module has been enhanced to allow the user to review the input curves for a module for all wells in the distribution list, along with the ability to run the modules automatically after they have been setup. Enhancements to the batch operation module allow for easy control of the processing intervals and where the result curves are written.
Enhancements to the User Programming module have extended its functionality to make even more sophisticated interactive programs. Visual Basic .NET and C# .NET have been added to the list programming languages.
The NMR module has been completely overhauled to extend its capability to calculating water saturations using the Dual Water method and outputting calibrated capillary pressure curves from the T2 spectrums.
A new DLIS exporter has been added to the output modules.
